How long does your framing service take?

Usually between 2-5 weeks depending on the scale of the work to be completed. If you need something completed more urgently for an event or a gift we will always endeavour to help out where possible. Please call 01473 225544 for current lead times.

How much might it cost me?

Do you frame shirts?

Yes, we are pleased to be able to offer a full shirt framing service including box framing, plaques and the addition of other memorobilia such as tickets, programmes and photographs. A ball park for a shirt is between £150-£250 but pop by with it and we can go through all the options with you. We are also able to make display cases for other items such as shoes, sports equipment and more.

Do you frame medals?

Yes, we take great pride in doing so as we understand the value and significance of such items. Due to their unique nature please pop in to discuss your options and we will endeavour to frame them beautifully.

Do I need to make an appointment?

For most framing enquiries you will not require an appointment, however if you have a bulk lot it may be worth calling ahead. Our hours of opening are Tuesday - Friday 10am - 5pm and Saturdays 10am - 4pm. (Closed Sundays and Mondays) For holiday hours please call 01473 225544.

Do you offer protective glazing?

Yes, we offer every type of picture glazing available, including UV protection, Non Reflection, Acrylic and Museum grade. We will always help to advise as to which will be most suitable for your artwork.

Can you restore or clean old paintings?

Yes however we will always need to see work of this nature in person. We have vast experience of working with items of historical significance having worked for the Ipswich Museums for over a decade. We will always advise the most appropriate route to take and can help with external conservators where necessary using well known contacts in the industry.

Can I use an existing frame?

Yes, however we always prefer for the frame to be brought to us to make sure that the new mounting/glass/backing fits perfectly. We will always assess the structural integrity of any damaged frames and advise appropriately as to whether or not it is viable to repair or not.

Do you frame Cross Stitches and Tapestries?

Yes, we are able to frame all types of fabric, needlework and textiles. We are proud to use the traditional lacing method where suitable as we appreciate the time and effort that goes into work of this nature. Having framed thousands over the years we are very well versed in helping to choose the best mounting and frame styles to suit your work.

Is there anything you can't frame?

With a shared experience of over 60 years we are happy to entertain any challenge that we are faced with. We have framed everything from wedding dresses, instruments, vinyls, flags, sports equipment and toys to original works by Henri Matisse, John Constable, Banksy, Thomas Gainsborough, Maggie Hambling, Tracy Emin and L.S Lowry.

Will you display my artwork?

We are always keen to support talented artists. If you are interested in showing your work please email owen@mfframes.com with your artist statement and images of your work.

Do you offer hanging or delivery?

Owen has hung artwork in many estates and has a keen eye for detail and curation. Pricing is dependant on what needs to be hung, location and time spent. Please call for an estimate. As a general rule we do not offer delivery however we may be able to help for large or bulk items.

Do you stock ready made frames?

We are a fully bespoke framing service so we do not have any ready made frames in stock. We will however always endeavour to provide a service suitable for your needs and budget and can offer our frames as supply only.
